DM Vishakh Conducts Inspection for Smooth Implementation of Special Electoral Roll Revision Programme

Lucknow | To ensure the smooth and successful execution of the Special Intensive Revision Programme of electoral rolls for Assembly constituencies, District Magistrate and District Election Officer,  Vishakh G., conducted an inspection of various areas under Assembly Constituency-173, Lucknow North.

During his visit, the District Magistrate inspected booths numbered 401, 402, 403, and 404 located in Vinay Khand, Gomti Nagar, and issued necessary directions. He also conducted surprise inspections of booths 405, 406, 407, 409, and 410 situated in Vivek Khand to assess on-ground arrangements.

While interacting with Booth Level Officers (BLOs), the District Magistrate reviewed the distribution of enumeration forms, progress of voter outreach, and marking activities through the mobile application. He instructed BLOs to ensure that enumeration forms reach every voter in a timely manner and that all filled forms are collected before December 4, 2025.

The DM also interacted with voters present at the sites to receive their feedback and directed the concerned BLOs accordingly. Emphasizing accountability, he stated that no negligence or laxity would be tolerated in election-related activities. All officials were instructed to complete the tasks associated with the special revision programme with high quality, transparency, and adherence to deadlines.

Following the field inspection, Shri Vishakh visited the ICCC Control Room, established under the Smart City project, to review real-time monitoring of the revision campaign. Additional Municipal Commissioner Shri Pankaj Srivastava briefed that one Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) and two computer operators have been deployed for each assembly constituency at the control room. Through this setup, AEROs maintain direct communication with BLOs to track progress and ensure effective online monitoring of the campaign.

Later, the District Election Officer attended a review meeting at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan’s Mercury Hall with EROs, AEROs, supervisors, and BLOs associated with the electoral process. He emphasized that the distribution and collection of enumeration forms are crucial components of the ongoing revision drive. BLOs must provide two copies of the enumeration form to each voter within their polling area and assist them in completing it properly.

The meeting was also attended by the Chief Development Officer, Additional Municipal Commissioner, Additional District Magistrates (Finance & Revenue, City-East, Administration, and Civil Supplies), along with Electoral Registration Officers and other departmental officials.
